Hi -

I plan on getting a UPH pass in May for our upcoming trip. I saw on the wdwig.com website that, like other Disney passes, there is an "advance purchase" price that is lower than the regular price. Does anyone know where you can get those UPH passes in advance, and can the DVC discount also be used?

What is the DVC discount on those passes? I thought I recalled it was 10%

You can only get UPH in advance when you purchase a package deal from Disney. You have to buy your UPH at the desk when you check in at your DVC resort. All you will get is the 10% DVC discount.

JLS, one benefit to not purchasing in advance is that you can have the first or last day removed from the UPH so if you are arriving late or leaving early you don't have to pay for time you are not going to use.

...added to the 10% discount, this is a much better deal than the advance purchase discount, IMO.

We find it cheaper to advance purchase park hopper pluses. They never expire so if for some reason we don't get to a park one day during our stay, we are not paying for it. UPH's are length of stay (LOS) and expire after your visit.

We are planning our next trip also, and looking at tickets for the outlaws.. adv purchase from WDW 4day ph+ and 1 DQuest ticket is 242 bucks plus tax. an UPH is 255 (with discount) plus tax. Actually, it is a few bucks more, they will add tax on the $282 before 10% discount is applied.

Ticketmania is a few bucks cheaper and they provide a wealth of information on the orlando area and tons of coupons.. but the tickets are paper (haven't had a problem with it, just like the sturdier plastic ones from WDW).

When we go in December, my group will be checking in Saturday morning and out Tuesday morning, so we'll only be there 3 full days. To my understanding, I can purchase tickets whenever I arrive at the lobby to check in (I am expecting to be there early, 8AMish) and leave off the day we check-out, right? That way I can get a ticket for 3 days.

Any problems with my theory?

Your theory sounds right to me. You'll be getting a 3 day UPH.
