What is the opinion on UPH tickets?

With UPH, what if the weather or something keeps you from spending a descent amount of time in the park? That's a good chunck of money wasted isn't it? Or, since you have paid for them, do you go to park regardless of conditions? Looking at weather.com, Sept is one of the most rainy months in Orlando.

We are going in Sept and have 5 nights booked at ASM and hoping to change if AP rates are good enough (would purchase AP and go this Sept and next May). If no AP rates, then we will probably get normal park hopper tix since they never expire.

I always get a UPH. To me the convenience outweighs the cost. I don't go offsite during my trips and I visit a park everyday regardless of the weather, even if it's just to go and eat at a restaurant. When you go for 5 days or more the price difference b/w a park hopper plus and UPH is only a couple dollars and you dont' have to worry about the options.

Since we've stayed onsite we have always used the LOS/UPH tickets. Since we never know what mood we'll be in each morning/afternoon/evening it allows us to do whatever strikes our fancy that day. For example, two years ago we spent every afternoon at TL for only a couple of hours. Had we had a regular park hopper we would not have been able to do that, or felt guilty only being there for two hours. We feel the UPH/LOS passes allow us to feel totally carefree during our vacation.

Although I've never been, I am definitely getting the UPH. I like the idea that I don't have to spend my entire Saturday in MK, just so that I can see Spectro & Fireworks. I can go to another park during the day & hit MK at night. We can go to DQ in the evenings if we wish. Or go to Epcot for dinner, no matter which park we were in during the rest of the day. I feel the flexibility it gives me is well worth it. Regarding the weather, if the morning is nice and you go to a park & then it pours in the afternoon, you can then have the choice of going to DQ (even if it will crowded) instead of being huddled in your room watching TV. Just my 2 cents.

For my family who are frequent visitors (usually 2 out of every 3 years) and enjoy staying at a WDW resort just as much or more than going into the parks -- we always get the PHP. A normal visit will be 9 nights where we go into the main parks 3 days and 2 days at the water parks. The rest of the time is spent relaxing at the resort with maybe one day at an off-site attraction like KSC or an airboat ride.

I just purchased 7 day PH w/ 4 pluses for $315 each and they will last us for two years!!!

I have never felt deprived by being limited in my time in the parks because of our frenquent visits! If I am going to spend $200/day for my family of 4 to get into a park, I am going to make the most of it!

For those with lots of disposable income, or if it is your first time and you don't plan to visit again in the near future, I say go for the UPH - but, if you are like me, you try to keep expenses in line so you can go on more trips!!!

A side benefit is that you don't get so burned out trying to get your money's worth -- those non-park days are the only way I can truly call my WDW trips "vacations."

We purchase Ap's. If there is a chance you will go again in the next year it pays for itself real quick. We get a regular one, and usually wait to go to the waterparks during the second trip when the regular pass has already been paid for. We have even got specials where we could add a month of waterparks for the price of one day. I love the annual pass for feeling like you don't have to go to the parks from sun-up to sun-down. Not to mention we usually get a good rate on the room. Plus it makes the next trip that much closer.

Flexibility was the selling point for us as well. I have three boys who love video games, so DQ would be he perfect place to get out of the rain. There are lot's of inside things to do at the parks like shows or shopping. We don't plan on staying at the same park all day either. We'll go to one park for EMH, back to our resort to swim and rest, and then head out to a different park in the evening.
