We purchased 7 day tickets for our trip this summer. I am wanting to upgrade them to 10 day tickets, as we will be there for 11 days. I have heard that I can use them one day and then get them upgraded for cheap. Is this true? How much would it cost to upgrade them?

Thanks
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie!

When ever you upgrade they just add the additional days and options and as typical the more you add on for days the cost PER day goes down, BUT, if you decide to add the HOPPER, they will charge you for the hopper on the TOTAL days of tickets not just the day you decide, so if you add it on the 5th day of lets say a 10 day tix, you'll still get charged for the 10 day value. I hope that was clear.
If you check out Disney.com website you can then just take a look at what you think you ACTUALLY want and see the difference. There are way too many options to just give you an exact. maybe someone else has an additional way??
Good Luck and most of all HAVE A WONDERFUL VISIT!!!
And WELCOME to the DIS, I see you're failrly new to Posting. It is a GREAT resource!!

You don't have to use them before upgrading them, since you just purchased them, the price of your 7 tix hasn't changed... What you will pay is the difference between the 7 day tix and 10 day tix... it can be done at any park guest relations.

Now, if you had purchased your 7 day tix a while back, at a lower price, then it would be to your advantage to use them one day, to lock in at today's price, then upgrade to a 10 tix. (If you have older tix and don't use them one day to lock in today's price, you will not only pay the upgrade between 7 and 10 tix, but also the change in price between the original price of your 7 tix and today's price for the same 7 tix)

Hope I haven't confused you... :)

I purchased them before Disney raised the prices. So, I need to use a day then upgrade?

For more information on upgrading your tickets and so forth.. check the "Everything About Tickets" sticky located here on the Theme Parks board:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Park hopping is a flat fee.. whether it's a one day ticket, a ten day ticket, or a 7 day ticket with three days already used. Adding the park hopping option costs the same in each case.

WPFM is the same way.. it's a flat cost regardless of ticket.

The No Expiration option is based on the total days of the ticket.. regardless of how many have been used.

Hope this is helpful,

Knox
