In August, my daughter got a laptop with Vista installed. When the computer was purchased, she also received an upgrade to Windows 7. Although the upgrade cd came in early November, we have waited until her first semester was over to upgrade. Now that the new semester is beginning, it's time to install the upgrade. Does anyone have tips, suggestions, warnings, advice they would like to give before we do this? Thanks!

If it is anything like the disc I received from Dell. It does most stuff on it's own. Just give yourself plenty of time, if I remember right it was around 2 hours.

Okay...thanks. We plan on working on it today after all the dogs are washed (and that is a project in itself!).

Let it run the program to see what programs might be a problem when upgrading. Other than that just like the program run. Be sure you have done a backup of your important files before you do the upgrade.

Thanks, safetymom. I hadn't thought about backup. All of her first semester work is on this, so it looks like backup is the first step!
