Can upgrade to castle club at disneyland hotel at disneyland Paris over the phone or do have upgrade on day you arrive at disneyland hotel.

We booked last year during November/December to stay at the disneyland hotel in an room with an terrace with park view and are thinking of upgrading to the castle club we be going from 13th to 17th October 2014.

I think you can phone, but you will miss out on free nights and half board type perks.

May be tiny bit jealous though.....

You can do either and I have done.

If you book in advance then you know if they have availibity or not and can book if they do and you happy with the prices - we booked via the phone for our last stay there.

By upgrading on arrival we have paid much less then doing so in advance. We "haggled" the price down quite a bit :-) However the trip we did this, we were happy to stay in a normal DLH room if the upgrade was too expensive so we did not mind if there was no availabily.

So it is a question of paying more for a guarantee room or hopefully paying less on arrival but with no guarantee of there being any availabilty.

Ooh chance to haggle.... That sounds fun! Would it be extremely nosey to know how much you got off?? Even as a %. Sorry for the cheekiness!
Did you think the benefits worth while?

no problem lol

When we booked in advance we paid 3800 euro for 4 nights. When we upgraden on arrival we paid in total 1800 euro for 3 nights. We had already paid 1100 euro for our standard room.

So booking in advance was 950 per night:crazy2::crazy2: yes bonkers I know but it was for my big 40 birthday and I had saved like crazy for it for a year and a half:goodvibes

And the upgrade on arrival worked out at 600 per night so quite saving :dance3:

Have to say though that the 4 night stay was during halloween and the hotel was chocka block full where as the 3 night stay was in september and the park and hotel was very quiet - Castle Club was pretty much empty! Which I guess is why we were able to get this price for it.

Thank you! Food for thought
We're going in September (hopefully!!) and I'd love to upgrade. Just for the breakfast perks. Did gf and that was lovely. But I'm not sure if its worth the money and potentially missing out on HB. Any thoughts?

I think the words "potentially missing out on HB" would make me ask on check in, and if I was loosing my vouchers meaning I had to pay for the upgrade AND food, would mean I'd stay where I'd originally booked!

Oh yes definitely. If I ask at check in, I guess they would take vouchers too? It's nice to finally stay innormal room anyway.
