If you were going to upgrade from Pop Century to a moderate which one would you choose and why? this is our second trip and it is me and my 16 year old grandson. thank you

I would pick POR because of the food court and easy access to the Village. If a pool is necessary, then the French quarter as I think POR pool may be down then, not sure. I would research rehabs at the different mods and whether Disneyquest will still be open. CBR has an actual beach, POR doesn't, but you can't swim in the lake or channel. CBR does have a cool pool, but unless you pay extra for preferred you may have to take an internal bus to use the pool or refill drinks. I would go on the threads for the different ones and read up and look at pics.

I have stayed at both CBR and POR and love both. I would think that a 16 year old would prefer POR. (mind did at that age) It is truly like going home every time we visit. In fact I made my 2016 reservations last night!

I also hear many many good things about CSR.... especially about the food court and pool.

We love POFQ. The smallest resort on all Disney Property which mean no long walks to main building, pool or bus. It has one bus stop so once on the bus you go straight to park (no waiting for bus to do the loop of the larger resorts). Sometimes but rarely it does share its buses with POR. You have the boat to DTD which is really fun especially for your 16 y.o. Lots of fun stuff to see and do there. You can use all of the facilities at POR, its sister resort including pool hopping, fishing, surrey bikes, boat rides, nightly campfires, and horse carriage rides. All the views in POFQ are nice. You will either get a river or small courtyard view. Even the parking lot views aren't bad as it is surrounded by trees. The food court is small but has everything you might want including New Orleans beignets. Love the pool and hot tub and is often less crowded than other resorts because of smaller crowds. Check out my review and pictures on my blog here: http://disneyplaning101.blogspot.ca/2011/11/disneys-new-orleans-french-quarter.html

We love CSR, it is my 16 year olds favorite resort as well as the rest of us. It has an awesome pool with a water slide, large hot tub, volley ball & arcade by the pool, lots of food choices. Can get your mug filled by the pool, can also get food there as well. I think the pool at POFQ is geared more for small children.

For a young man at that age go with POR. It has better food options and I don't know any boy that wouldn't like a boat trip to DTD.

CSR and PoR, you can't go wrong with either. I have never stayed at CBR but my wife did before we met and she liked it as well. Her preference is CSR, PoR, then CBR.

CSR has the best food options available, hands down. CSR also wins the transportation title as well and best selection for pools. PoR, I prefer the decor there over CSR and the boat ride to DTD even thought the bus is quicker most of the time.

We love the theme of CBR but have stayed at CSR more than any other resort (13 trips - 6 of which were at CSR). For all the reasons mentioned above and the queen sized beds. Pepper Market is nice and it just feels more like visiting an old friend than any other place we have stayed. The lake is the best and the property is gorgeous, especially in the morning and evening. It is BIG though so prepare to walk... a lot.
