Upgrading to APs does everyone need to be there?

We are planning to upgrade our tickets today to seasonal aps, does everyone in our party need to be there for this or can I do it for all four of us while DH takes the kids on some rides?

FWIW they did initially ask to see my husband's ID, but they were able to do the upgrade without it.

We had the B2G1 free from UT and there was no cost to upgrade.

We needed all adults there (with IDs) to upgrade. It was in 2011. Maybe it has changed.
