Upgrading to AP - parking fee refunded?

I plan to upgrade my ticket to an AP when we arrive to WDW (after we enter the gate). We are staying offsite, so will have to pay for parking. If I bring my receipt to Guest Relations when I upgrade my ticket, will the $15 parking fee be refunded or applied to the cost of the AP, since an AP includes parking?

Thanks!

Yes.

Have a great trip!

I was thinking about this the other day. The other question that I have is what about several days worth of parking charges? If the AP begins the 1st day that I used my ticket, would I then be able to get a refund for say 3 or 4 days worth of parking?

We are considering upgrading to APs depending on how our DS likes WDW, but will probably not make this decision until a couple of days in.

Absolutely. Been there, done that. Disney resort prices for a fam of 6 is too ridiculous anymore. Now prefer to rent large houses for 10 days at the cost of 1-2 nights of a value. I once even had a great CM who even asked me if I was staying onsite or offsite and took it upon herself to ask for my receipt. Two things to note:

1) You must have your days receipt on you.
2) The refund can only be done on the day you do your upgrade, for that day only. Can't go back the next day for a retrograde refund, nor can you get a refund for days prior to your upgrade.

Parking fees is something to consider when staying offsite as part of your ticket price.

they refund for an upgrade? :confused3 yet they don't refund when you purchase one new! :confused3 Years ago they use to refund for a new purchase but they stopped that... unless they went back to it? That is why I tell everyone to purchase their AP at Down Town Disney, this way they get the real deal, not a voucher and they do not have to pay for the parking before changing voucher into pass.

Are you sure they don't refund with the purchase of a new AP? Or, you just got a CM one time that didn't know? I honestly don't know, but I've been let in without needing to pay with voucher in hand--but I do get the feeling that is a CM judgement call. And I've had upgrade refunds several times, last year being the most recent. It just seems odd they wouldn't refund for a purchase of a new AP.

Yes they do refund for a new AP purchase.

I'm thinking that since the AP would be retroactive to the first day you used the ticket, the parking privileges "should" also be retroactive to that date, but I'm just guessing.

The only parking fee that will be refunded is for the date you are purchasing or upgrading to an AP. If you wait until day eight, for example, you will only get back $15 and not $120.

Thanks. This was what I was expecting, but in the spirit of Disney you never know. I would hate to have found out that I should have been saving the receipts, but did not.

This is not true. The day my DH and I bought our AP, we had to pay for parking at the TTC since we did not have the perk yet. We forgot the receipt in the car, but they told us not to worry about it and that we could do it tomorrow. The next day at DHS we brought the receipt from parking for the day before, showed our new APs and had no problem getting a refund, no questions asked. This was at Guest Services right inside the park.

I don't know. Things at Disney are always changing, and more than a bit inconsistent. I've always been told the exact opposite. It could be a change in policy, it could be you got lucky, it could be I've always been misinformed. I'm hoping its the last. Anyone?

They only give the refund at Guest Relations. If you go to a ticket window even for a new purchase they are not able to refund the parking ticket. But if you ask someone at the ticket window they should direct you to Guest Relations. More than likely it was a Vacation Planner that didn't know Guest Relations would refund it.

We got our AP a few months ago at the TTC and they had no problem refunding us the parking. I know of others who have done this too. You will be fine.
