Upgrading to AP--I swear I read the sticky!

Ok, I read the sticky, I promise. However, I am just not comprehending it, lol.

We have a package booked for August with 10 day MYW Park hoppers. I am interested in only upgrading my ticket to an AP.
First, is that possible to just upgrade one ticket that is part of a package?
Second, what would the cost be? I booked the package in January 2019.
Thirdly, If I do upgrade, when would be the best time/place to do that? Do I have to use one day of the ticket first?

Thank you for any help!

@Robo

Plus, the ticket sticky is where you should be posting this.

I will answer to the best of my ability. I think these are correct, based upon my read of the tickets sticky.
1. Yes, but only after check-in.
2. Deduct the cost of a 10-day MYW hopper from January 2019 - I forgot whether prices changed after) from the current cost of the AP. If it went to date-based prices prior to January 2019, then go calculate the prices of the date-based tickets, effective January 2019 and deduct that cost.
3. It doesn't matter anymore about using one day of the ticket because there is no price bridging to current prices if you paid prices prior to price increases (expiration dates, date-based pricing, etc. have allowed Disney to figure out the price of the tickets purchased prior).

A. No need to read all of the Ticket Sticky.
Specifically, you really just need to read Post #6 of the Ticket Sticky.
B. Yes. After check-in.
C. Read Post #6 of the Ticket Sticky. Then, if you still need help. Post back.
D. The earlier in the trip (as in, the first day) the more chances you have of getting the AP benefits due to you.

To the bold, if you do use the ticket first, once you do, you can upgrade to an AP right on your app and you don't have to go anywhere to make the purchase. You will have to pop by a ticket booth to complete the purchase to activate and pick up the physical AP
Should be quicker to just pick up the AP
