Upgrading to Annual Passes from MYW

Hi, DISers-

I am seriously contemplating upgrading to PAPs during our upcoming trip.

Could you please tell me how I would go about doing this? Can I upgrade any time during the trip, or do I need to do it before we use our first day of MYW PHs?

The reason that I ask this is because the last day of our upcoming trip is 11/1. I would like to upgrade on that day, so that they'll be good for Halloween next year.

Also, could you please tell me if there are any dining-related perks to having a PAP, other than being eligible for the DDE?

If the MYW pass has not been used more than 13 days ago then what you paid is applied directly to the cost of an annual pass when you do the upgrade. But the start date of the annual pass is the first usage date of the MYW pass.

AP's have used finger scans for many years before finger scans were put into use for all adult tickets.

It's not going to work that way if I am understanding you correctly, I'm sorry to say. Your AP will be back dated to the first day you used the ticket, the upgraded AP. So even if you wait until the last day of your trip or do it on the first day, the date will be the same (the first day you used that ticket). Your anniversary date will be 366 days from whatever day you use the MYW ticket for the first time to enter a park (i.e. if you buy it on October 26th, it would be good until midnight of October 26th the next year).
