Upgrading to a Premiere AP

I have a question. I know that you can upgrade your AP but my question is if you have a premium AP from Disneyland and you want to upgrade to a Premiere AP can you upgrade by using WDW park hoppers? The reason I am asking is I'm thinking of upgrading my Premium AP to a Premiere AP when we go to WDW next year but in order to get free dining we have to purchase park hoppers as part of the package. So, I was thinking maybe they would let me apply the PH's to my upgrade. Has anyone done this or know if it's possible to do? Let me add that 5 of us are going and only 2 of us have AP's that we want to upgrade.

Nope. You can only upgrade from one admission media, and you would have two (the AP and the tickets).

You can have the tickets separated from your account and hold them for the future, without using them, if FD is important for you to keep for that trip.
