Upgrading tickets at the gate

I was told that you can no longer upgrade 5 day tickets to 7 or 8 day tickets at the gate anymore as they don't sell 8 days?? Is that true from those who have been there recently?

That is correct. There was no announcement. They just stopped selling 7/8 day park hoppers. You can upgrade from 6-day hoppers to annual passes.
