upgrading ticket to AP question

I am going in Sep and am going to buy and AP but want to buy a ticket thru Undercover Tourist now to hedge against the looming price increase. Is my logic correct to buy the ticket with the largest discount from the gate price so I will get the most discount on the annual pass? If the ticket has the waterpark option do I have to buy the premium pass or just buy the ticket closest to the price of the annual pass? Thanks for your advice

1- Yes. Largest without going OVER the cost of the AP that you want.
2- You do NOT, UNLESS you actually USE one of the Water Park and More options before you do the upgrade.
3- Yes. Closest without going OVER the cost of the AP that you want.

Yes, that's the correct approach as long as you don't buy anything that costs more than an AP (because you may not get any refund).

Thanks for the help. The annual pass is $469 on the website, does that include taxes or are they additional? If they are additional what does the total come to?

$469 does not include tax.

Tax is 6.5%.
