Upgrading The Chew Epcot ticket to hopper?

@Pkltm ~ I'm not sure if you realized the OP of this thread, who attended the Chew tapings last year, stated you do need to use the ticket to get into the Chew taping; the tickets can't be reassigned:

I did see their response, thank you. If you already have a pass can you not use the one you already paid, the pp did not specify if they had another pass. I fully understand that you need a ticket to get into epcot. Either way I guess a park pass will go to waste.

OP here...

We had other park passes for entry. But when we got to the registration desk just outside the Epcot gates, they gave us a ticket and guided us through our own entrance gate. They made us scan the ticket and use our fingerprint for entry (so that we could leave and return later, if needed...). We were then led as a group to the waiting area for taping. We were free to go after taping, so we left to change and came back later and used the same Chew ticket for re-entry.

I don't recall seeing an expiration date on the ticket, but that doesn't mean it didn't expire that same day. I also don't know how strict they were at using that very ticket at the registration entry.

Robo since I think you are the expert of all experts on this- if we have fp's already booked for Epcot the day we attend the taping and those were booked based on our ap's and we don't use our AP for entrances will we get locked out of the FP system because our AP wasnt used for entrance ? I remeber reading something earlier this year about something like that to stop people from using others FP reservations without them entering the park?????

Unless they are issuing the kind of ticket that has a built-in short-time expiration date.

I have no way to know for sure, but under normal conditions, your FPs would likely work just fine even if you use the special tickets for park entry.
You're not trying to use "two different sets" of FP that day.
You are just using the FPs you booked and are entitled to use that day.
