Hope this is ok to post in here, wasn't sure what the right forum would be.

I am thinking about doing a trip during the free dining period and was thinking I'd like to upgrade my 1 day ticket to a FL resident annual pass when I get there. Does anyone know what dollar value from the 1 day would be applied towards an upgraded ticket purchase?

Also, after I had my annual pass, I will be eligible to book discounted AP room only as well as FL resident room only? Can the dining plan be added to the room only ressies without a park ticket since I'll then have the APs?

Thanks,
Chereya :flower3:

Well, I'm pretty sure you can do half of what you want.

It is possible to take your one day ticket to the window and upgrade it to a FL resident AP (seasonal, or regular). The value of the one day ticket is about $71. I've heard that some people have had problems with their dining credits disappearing when they upgrade that ticket. So if your free dining trip is 3 days, you might want to go ahead and get 3 day tickets, use those during this trip, then stop by guest services and upgrade the last day. Since you're going to be buying an AP anyway, as long as your MYW tickets are less than the face value of the AP you're buying, this will work.

But the second half of your question isn't possible. The free dining offer is only available when you pay rack rate for the room. So you won't be able to get either a FL resident or an AP rate for the free dining trip.

You would be eligible for those discounts on future trips.

Does this answer your question?

Thanks for the reply! That does answer my questions. :thumbsup2 Sorry I didn't word that 2nd question right, I meant on future trips, of course! :wizard:

I was trying to run some numbers on the WDW website (it really stinks, btw!) and was being quoted about $1000 for the contemp during a value season - $333 for each night in a standard garden wing room. Does that mean that they are booked for the cheapest $259 per night rates during my dates? I really want to stay at a monorail resort because my kids are 1.5 and 3 but that just seems sooo expensive for the privledge of using the monorail for 3 nights! :headache:
