Hello, I have a question regarding the change of reservations. We currently have ressies for ASMu for 5 nights (june16-June20) but have decided we want to upgrade to a moderate resort for 6nights. I'm thinking I can just call up the reservation line and ask for the change but you can never be too sure. Hope there isn't a charge or cancellation fee. Has anyone done this before?

Now I have the task of deciding which resort to choose. I've looked at a million pics (it seems like) and they all seem FANTASTIC! Anyone have any one great memory or thing about the moderate resorts that might help me make a decision?:Pinkbounc

TIA

:p if there isn't a penalty fee or anything then i've decided to stay at either the coronado or carribean resorts. My only question about these resorts is i've read a few people make comments about the bus transportation. Do the busses get crowded? I will be going mid June but i'm guessing it can't be worse then the all star busses. We stayed in ASsports last year and the busses were so crowded. I remember having to stand alot :) not that that ruined my stay but it was kind of hard holding a sleeping 2yr old on a moving/crowded bus.

Anyways, I was also wondering how spread out are these resorts? I also read something about someone having to catch a bus to get to the other side of the resort:confused: yikes.. sounds pretty spread out.... I hope it doesn't take us too long to get to the parks if the busses have to keep stopping at different locations..

:Pinkbounc TIA :Pinkbounc i can't wait.... :Pinkbounc

We prefer CBR but think all the moderates are pretty nice. If you want to be close to a bus stop ask for a building close to them.

If you read the CBR FAQ thread below it can answer all sorts of questions you may have.

If you have any questions please ask. I don't think walking is that bad. At CBR if you want to be close to the food court and main pool I would recommend Martinique or Trinidad North.

Hope there isn't a charge or cancellation fee.
Who did you book through, CRO, DC or WDTC? Are you going mid-June 2003? With this info, I can tell you if there will be any cancellation/change fees. ~:D~

We stayed at the Coronado Springs two years ago during the second week of June. There are four bus stops and the most crowded bus stop in the morning was at the Pepper Mill area. We found that if you went to the stops near the rooms it was easy to get a seat on the busses in the morning. We usually got up early to get to the parks around the time that they were opening (especially on early entry days). If we were returning to the resort after a parade or fireworks, the busses were always crowded.

I thought that this resort was pretty centrally located to all of the parks. It was not a long bus ride to any of the parks except maybe the Magic Kingdom, but even that was not too long of a ride.

As to your question about how spread out the resort is, we did not have a very far walk to anywhere within the resort---atleast we didn't feel like we needed a bus to get anywhere in the resort. The resorts are roomy, but not too spread out. The theming at the moderate resorts is wonderful. It does make you feel like you are away from home.

Hope you enjoy your stay. We love staying at the moderate resorts. The rooms are a little bigger, and as I mentioned, the theming is great.

My husband called the 404 W-Disney number to make ressies. I'm not sure who that is through  this will be our 2nd trip to WDW so we are still learning :p Our stay will be-Check in June 16 Check out June 21 2003

Also want to add a day either to the biginning or end of our stay to make it 5 days 6 nights when we upgrade :)

TIA

Thanks for the responses :Pinkbounc

Looks like you have 13 days until arrival. If you booked room only through CRO (1 night's deposit, balance due at check-in, 5 day cancellation policy), there will be no fees to change or cancel.

If you booked through WDTC (200 deposit, balance due 45 days prior to arrival), any change or modification of the reservation inside the 45 day mark will incur a 50.00 fee.

If you booked through DC (100.00 deposit, balance due 21 days prior to arrival), changes or modifications inside the 21 day mark will incur a 10.00 fee.

When you call to make the change, tell them you are booked at a Value resort, but were thinking of moving up to a Moderate to see what they were like, and ask if they have any specials going on, sometimes you can get a discounted rate that way. ~:D~

For what it's worth -

I have made several changes to our reservations thru WDTC - including changing resorts, adding a day, etc - they automatically add on a penalty if you make changes within the 45 day mark - but they typically will remove them - they didn't seem to have any problem whatsoever with removing them - We made reservations within 45 days of the trip, so any changes we made would be "penalty-worthy" - it never hurts to ask - they were very nice (and all the talk about CRO vs WDTC had me a bit frightened, since I had made reservations before knowing the difference!)

Okay so I'm assuming hubby booked through CRO because when I called them to change the ressies there was no penalty fee and the one night deposit was automatically transferred over to the new ressies. I also added one day and all was set and done! :Pinkbounc We'll be staying at CSR 16 june - 22 june

 oh no!!! I need to start packing!!! hehehehe :rolleyes

Thank you again to everyone for their help and kindness :D

Have fun -- there was a post further up about service declining at the YC that said CSR had the best bus service.
