Upgrading passes

Can passes be upgraded from one level to another? For example - if we buy 5 day park hoppers and decide we'd rather have six day hoppers, would we be able to upgrade them at a ticket window or at a ticket desk at the hotel?

If so - what restrictions might there be? For example - would we have to decide to do that before we use any days on them? Or can we do it if it is partially used? Or can it even be done once it is all used up? (Seems unlikely - that would be an easy way of getting a one day admission at a pretty good discount.)

We're debating between 5 & 6 day hoppers. I know unused days never expire, but it seems very unlikely we will be back anytime soon. Besides - we're really trying not to overspend (there are six of going, so even at a $32 difference it adds up to nearly $200).

Just wondering what our options are. Thanks.

After reading Mousesavers, I think I get it. I can apply the value of unused days to an upgraded pass, but I can't upgrade the way I thought - say a 5 day pass with one day left to a six day pass with then two days left. I can apply the one day to buy a new six day pass, but then I have a six day pass. Makes sense - I just needed to think about it.
