We linked our 7 day non hopper passes from a previous trip to our Disney Experience acct. So, we will upgrade one to a hopper and one to an AP after entering a park. Will we be able to keep the room key that has the 7 day and will we get a paper AP as well as having our bands? I don't like the idea of having that much money tied to a system that is new. I want proof of what I purchased.
Does everyone have bands now?

Doubtful. It is not possible to upgrade tickets more than 14 days past first-use--even no-expire ones.

Generally speaking, on site guests have bands, offsite guests do not.

1- If these tickets have never been used at all before, then you're fine.
2- OK.
3- There are no more "paper" AP's. All tickets issued at WDW are plastic cards with imbedded RFID chips.
4- If you DO have MagicBands, you WILL also get a plastic AP with RFID.
5- You do not have to put any kind of charging on a card or MagicBand.
6- All guests staying at a WDW-owned Resort.

We haven't used the passes. We had APs so we didn't need to use the 7 Day passes that were on the package. Are the plastic cards for AP's new the last couple years? The last ones we had were a heavy weight paper with a magnetic strip on the back. Today Disney unplugged was talking about limited trials of AP's on bands soon.

They switched to plastic cards for APs last year for RFID. These new cards no longer have your name and expiration date printed on them. They write that on with a sharpie. You'll receive a plastic AP card. You still need to show your AP card to get any discount.

The podcast was about AP holders who haven't stayed at a Disney resort being able to get Magic Bands for APs. Previously only those who stay at a Disney resort could get Magic Bands.

I don't know about your 7 day ticket-if you can get it on a card too.

We have an AP discount on our resort ressie. If I upgrade 1 of the 7 day passes to an AP, will I lose my fast pass+ picks that were linked to the 7 day pass or will they now be able to link the AP to my band? I'm afraid this might turn into a guest services nightmare. :scared1: my mom has a 5 day pass and at this point FP + won't let me get a FP for the day we leave until she adds a day when we get there, so, if APs aren't on the bands yet, then what? So confused.

1- Nope.

2- Yes.

3- That could happen (or not) if you don't make ANY changes.

4- I don't understand what that situation is, but if it's a GLITCH...
