48 sleeps and counting to my deal of the century trip to Santa Fe Hotel. Now, I have read lots of great things about the SF recently and we stayed in the Cheyenne in November and had a great time there to, so I have now got over my objection to the budget hotels :rotfl2:

However.......I am also taking my cousin and her 3yr old DS for their first ever trip to DLP:goodvibes and I am going to try and upgrade on arrival to the Golden Forest at SL. I have contacted Ebookers who have not been able to arrange the change for me without it costing more then a new, direct booking with DLP lol. And i contacted DLP who have said they can not help either, but will do their best to make the change for me when I arrive. I asked about price difference but they could not help me there either lol.

So my question is, does any one know if I will be charged the different in rack rate between santa fe and SL, or the difference between what I actually paid for Santa Fe (which was of course super cheap) and the rack rate for SL?
Any one ever do something like this before?

I am not going to mention anything to my cousin and will just get her to stay with the kids whilst i try and arrange this at check in, but I just wanted to prepare myself for being quoted a huge amount of money.

Really hoping they just go by rack rate, because the difference is less then 300 euro from what I can see!

I think it will be rack rate for the SL as it will not be any deals involved for the SL. Plus the GF carry a supplement on top too as it's not a standard room. Where are you finding the rack rate? Be careful that it is not per night as the room prices direct end to be per night

Thanks Tennis - I assumed too that the SL will be charged at rack rate, but just wandered if they would look and see how much I actually paid for the santa fee and deduct this from the cost, or if they dont check what you paid and just charged rack rate difference between the 2. I have checked in the disney brochure for my dates and that is the price difference for the whole stay.

I guess I will just have to wait and hope for the best:goodvibes

edit - that is price difference for standard room I just realised now

The price in the brochures is usually different to paying on the day too as the hotels i'm sure is per night if I recall correctly what is posted on the back of the room doors. They don't look back at what you paid. Try giving them a call to find out the cost.

the UK brochure puts your dates in the moderate season (ie not low season) and lists a per-adult per-night price of £156 for the Sequoia Lodge. For 5 nights this would be a brochure price of £1560 :crazy2:! (having looked at the Santa Fe per-adult per-night brochure price I'd say its not far off rack room price).

Nothing wrong with enquiring when you arrive to see how much extra it would cost you to upgrade, but maybe keep it a little secret to yourself, so your cousin and the kids aren't disappointed if its too much money?

Thanks all - I will let you know how I get on It would be great if the upgrade is doable but we are all excited to be going regardless:goodvibes

I think its the difference between what you have paid, and the rake rate for that day. I'd imagine its way way way more than your bargain trip!

Rake rate per nigh for the Santa Fe is €250 approx for mid season, with the DLP at a whooping €1300.....
