Upgrading from 7 day MYW to AP?

I have a question for anyone. Can you upgrade the MYW 7 day ticket to an annual pass - if so - for how much? I ask because my in-laws will be going to WDW with us next week and they bought a 7 day MYW pass. But after thinking about it, they thought they may go to WDW again later this year, thus an AP would make more sense. (they are DVC members, and would use the DVC discount on the AP thats why)

Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Scott

We called Disney with this same question just a couple of days ago. The Cm said we could do this at the hotel when we arrived if we wanted. I am assuming the cost would be the difference between the two tickets.

You might want to tell your in-laws to call member services. I am also a DVC member and I could swear that I was told I could only get the discount by calling and that I couldn't get the discount by purchasing the AP at the parks. Might have been an uninformed CM also. :confused3

The transaction can be done but not at a resort. No upgrades to AP/PAP/SAP can be done at the resorts. It must done at a Guest Relations location at the theme parks or DTD. Your in-laws must bring their blue DVC ID as well as a photo ID for each of them. GR will scan their MYW ticket and charge them the difference between the cost of their ticket and the DVC price of an AP.

You don't give much info as to which 7 day MYW they have. If you know what they paid for their ticket, subtract that from $314.18 and you'll be very close to what it will cost them.
