Upgrading Free dining

I'm planning a bit of a last minute trip (for me anyway) and I was thinking about utilizing the free QS dining offered. If I was to decide to pay the difference and upgrade to the dining plan, can I do that a few days before I arrive, or even at check-in?

Any changes to the dining plan must be made no later than 3 days before check in for a regular reservation or two days if you booked through the DVC office. Changes cannot be made at check in.
