Does anyone have any experience upgrading a MYW PH they got with a free dining offer to a DVC AP? DH and I are contemplating taking a trip this fall to WDW but will be staying on the free dining offer at a value resort. I am thinking we might want to upgrade the tix to APs.

Thanks!!

Jess

This can be done but you must request that the tickets be removed from your Magic bands and issued as hard tickets for later use. Then, take the hard tickets to Guest Services in one of the parks or Disney Springs.

This is an easy and straight forward upgrade. Just make sure you have your DVC membership card with you and photo ID for each adult. You just need to complete the upgrade while the tickets are still valid. I'm not sure if Daddio just read too much into your question, but his advice is wrong on a number of points.

I agree it's very easy. Just go to any guest service either within or outside the park, have your DVC card, ID and MB and be certain to do it before the end of the last day of use on your ticket. The CM will calculate the difference, collect your payment and additional information required for the AP and you'll be set for one year from the first day you used the original ticket to enter a park.

Detaching from the MB and getting a hard ticket would only be necessary if you were looking to use the ticket and do the upgrade on a later trip.
