Upgrading DU 2 Park 1 Day Ticket to AP/Power Pass?

I had watched the announcement yesterday(could UO's management be more wooden or uncomfortable in front of a camera) & was very excited for the new additions to UO in 2012 so I decided on buying the Power Pass(I am a AAA member so I get most of the AP discounts via that) but I had a question. I have a choice, either A. Buy the Power Pass at park entrance & pay Mears the $16 roundtrip & get into the parks that way(thus also negating my chance at early entry) or B. Buy the Dreams Unlimited 2 Park 1 Day Ticket with transfers & pay the upgrade to the Power Pass or the AP if it's more affordable. I know the AP takes effect the day of first swipe & I was planning on using it this coming December & next September so I would get my money out of it & I don't drive so paying for parking isn't a question anyways. Just wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should do. TIA!

It sounds like you've thought this out and are ready to go. I think either way would be OK but if you wait and purchase the PP at the gate, the prices could increase while you're waiting to purchase and if you go ahead and purchase the DU ticket, you can still upgrade for a mimimum amount. So my concern would be waiting too long and getting caught with a price increase.

Complete sense but I was wondering what the extra upgrade fee would be as it sounds like a better option to buy the 2 park 1 day ticket in advance & just upgrade to Power Pass at the gate.

You just pay the difference in what you paid for your ticket (the barcode will tell Universal exactly where you got the ticket and how much you paid) and the amount of the power pass. You won't be saving anything by buying the ticket in advance.
