Upgrading DDP to Deluxe?

We have wound up with quite a few dinners we will pay OOP for, but not sure if it is worth the upgrade, do you know the cost?

And can we use TS credits for QS? As it looks like you get no QS?

I am a bit confused!

The Deluxe Plan costs 109.53$ per night (adults) and 29.86$ per night (Children). It's an upgrade of 48.89$ (adults) and 10.63$ (children)over the DDP.

Your credits are not split up between QS or TS so you are free to use them for whichever you choose.

We always get the deluxe. Its a lot of food but its worth it to us to be able to have 3 sit down meals a day.

Assuming you are going to be there for 5 nights and you are adults and using gem21's numbers, you would be paying $303.20 per person extra for deluxe. Would your couple of oop meals cost that much? If not, I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't do it anyway as I can't eat that much food and it's a waste of money for me but I would suggest you just run the numbers using the number of nights you will be paying for and looking at the menus where you plan on eating.

I called about this yesterday because we are wanting to do this for our September trip and I just needed to get what it was going to cost. First CM on the phone told me that I couldn't do this as I had free dining and if she changed it I would then have to pay for all of dining . I said thank you, hung up and called back because I know that we had done this in the past. Maybe it's a pain for them to check because the 2nd CM said it was "about" $50 per person per night instead of giving me an exact amount, so that's somewhat in line with what the above poster quoted.

I do know if you want to change from regular to deluxe it has to be done 72 hours before check in-that's from a reliable source-Disboards :teeth:

We find that it's worth the cost because we like to dine at a few signature restaurants, so normally we are still only having 2 meals a day. And I love having the extra snacks so that I can bring home a few treats.

We bought the DDP and thought it was perfect. Because after riding the rides and a big breakfast we really weren't hungry enough for 3 sit down dinners per day. I could not justify it costing us 1200.00 for 1 meal per day for all 4 of us for 5 days. I brought extra cash and when we were hungry, we ate. Even though something is quick-service it is still a large portion of food. I say pay for the extra meal.

It depends on your "worth"...I cannot justify the regular dining plan for us...I tried...I either need a "we're doing this cheapo" or "we/re doing this all out" kind of a trip. We got in under free dining for 14 nights over Christmas and New Years so the upgrade for 5 "adults" was large so I really did try to work the regular plan...it wasn't making me happy. So we upgraded.

If I was to plan counter service, I would not do the dining plan. If you are doing mostly sit downs and will enjoy the convenience of the deluxe dining (like we do) it is way worth it. If you got regular dining free and are just paying to upgrade, it is probably way way worth it.
