Upgrading comp tix to AP

Hi there,

I will be travelling to WDW on 2 day park hopper tickets that have been comp'ed to me. Is it possible to upgrade these tickets to an AP? If so, what is the best strategy (enter park first)? I am a DVC member, so I am hoping for the gold pass.

I don't know what "comped to me" means, in this case.
Whether you can upgrade or not is specific to the kind of ticket you have.
A true "comp" ticket has no actual monetary value, so it cannot be upgraded at all.

Regardless, there is no "strategy" needed.
If the tickets CAN be upgraded, you simply go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations and
the CM can do the transaction.

But, again, you need to describe exactly how, and from whom, you received your tickets.

I know that you are looking for information and this site has many experts with much ticket experience.
So, PLEASE, be very specific and detailed regarding everything about this (these) ticket(s.)

What date did you get them?
From WHOM did you get them?
WHY did you get them?
What wording is on them?
Do they have any date printed on them?
Please include all wording EXCEPT... do NOT post any "numbers" (other than a date) on the tickets.
 
Ariel ~ did a CM load the complimentary tickets into your MDE account? There is very little info that describes the ticket in the Ticket area of your MDE account when it's loaded/linked to your account.

If you were also issued the ticket by email, that is where you can find restrictions. If you have the printout check and see if "NO CASH VALUE" is printed towards the bottom of the ticket voucher. If it states the ticket has "no value," it can't be upgraded.

If you don't have the printout, the only way to determine if you can upgrade it is to call ticketing and give them your MDE account info.
 
Hi everyone, thanks for your replies. I don't have the tickets in hand (or even in MDE) yet. I have just been told that's what I will have available. But once I receive them I will check these things and post and ask again. Thanks!

Also WDW does not allow multiple tickets to be applied toward a single ticket upgrade. So if the tickets can be upgraded but you have 2 one day tickets only 1 could be used toward the upgrade to 1 AP.
