Upgrading child to adult

I made my resort reservation by phone, and told them I wanted to upgrade my 9yr old to an adult for the regular DDP. The CM said okay, and even gave me an updated price, but when I got my reservation it still shows him as getting child meals and the price is not updated. Should I manually change his age online before I call back and try to get them to fix it again or what?

AFAIK, you can't make changes online, so you would have to call. I would also ask the CM to email an updated confirmation so you can make sure the reservation is corrected.

I just wondered if maybe I should change his age on MDE for the trip anyway. I thought maybe that's why the reservation link they sent me still had him listed as 9 yrs old with child prices. I don't know but regardless I have to call back.

Wow..I called back and the CM said she couldn't upgrade his age. So I told her that maybe if I changed his age in MDE that would help. She agreed and transferred me to internet help and the guy said well there is no easy way he knew of to do this. I then explained to him how I could change his age, and he didn't know that was possible.. but he held while I proceeded to do it. Then I was transferred back to a CM who finished confirming everything!

Whew..at least now the internet help guy knows that we can change ages even if they can't!

Did the price for the ticket change too when you changed the age? I have been thinking about doing this as well, but thought if I changed the age, the ticket price would change along with the DDP price.

yes the ticket price would increase from a child's ticket to an adult's ticket

Yes, and the total price of our package increased almost $300! It makes me wonder if I should have just left it the way it was since we have a lot of buffets booked anyway!
