Can you upgrade the buy one get one free tickets from Disneyland website. I mean by taking each the adult and the child and upgrade them seperately when you are there. Or do you think they have some sort of code in the tickets so that you can't do that and save money turning them both into AP's? That would make a four day adult about 50 dollars more and the childs 90 dollars more. It would be worth it if you could. Anyone done this yet? Thanks!

Usually the tickets have something within the code that tells Disney how much was paid for it. So when upgrading you get the value of the ticket applied to the cost of the AP, then you pay the difference. So I would think with these, you'd get the full value of the adult ticket applied towards the AP cost. But with the child ticket, they would know it was free and you'd have to pay the entire cost of the AP.

I know this is how it works when you get the advance purchase discounted hopper tickets. So I'm guessing it would be the same with these.

Maybe someone who has tried can let us know for sure.

How do you convert the ticket to an AP? Also, can it be done before our trip (to avoid standing in yet another line once we're there?)

We bought 8-day park hopper tickets as part of our package (buy adult, get child ticket free.) The price of the adult ticket I think is pretty close to the deluxe AP, and it would be nice to get additional discounts on food & merchandise while we're there.

Thanks!

You want to be sure that none of the 8 days you will be going are blackout dates on a AP (is deluxe the one that has blackout days?). Because if you upgrade and there are blackout days you won't get to go in.. We got the 8 day hoppers too and plan on upgrading the last day we are in the parks to AP's for just another $30.00 each..

You can go on a blockout day, just pay an additional $30. I believe in order to upgrade, you have to go to the ticket booth first, then go inside to the AP center and have your picture taken.

Oh, I hadn't thought about blackout days, but those are for peak times (?), so don't think we have to worry about that.

So there's no way to take care of the upgrading beforehand? I'm guessing this would need to be done at the ticket counter at the park entrance? (I'm still figuring out the layout of the park, never having been before.)

I'm not sure if you can upgrade before your trip, definitely no harm in going to the box office to fidn out. We upgraded on the last day of our trip. Blackout days for deluxe aps usually include staurdays from february through the the first saturday in septemebr and the weekend of the fourth of july. If you want to take advantage of the ap discount upgrade one of your parkhoppers the first day, that way you'll only have to buy one blockout pass for your party.
