Upgrading base tickets to park hopper after purchase

So this might be geared more towards Canadians but I plan on redeeming airmiles for a 7 day base ticket. They do not have an option through airmiles to get a park hopper ticket but I would like to upgrade the tickets once I get to Disney. Is it possible to upgrade the base tickets even if I got them through a rewards program?

Short answer is yes, but be aware that as of now Air Miles is still distributing the remainder of their Canadian Resident passes. While these can be upgraded, they cannot be "price bridged", so you'll pay the difference between the Canadian Resident price of your existing ticket and the current price for the ticket you're purchasing. IIRC the Canadian Resident 7-day base ticket was priced at $295, and the current 7-day hopper is $485. So your upgrade cost will be $190+tax.

"Regular" tickets obtained through Air Miles have been price-bridged in the past, just like tickets from any other reseller (ie. pay the difference between the current gate price of the ticket you have and the current gate price of the ticket you want).
