here is the situation. We have Ap passes from last year, it's the power pass. Now because of block out dates (last year we went later in the summer), we arrive at sapphire falls on Monday the 25th, checking out on sat, then heading to Disney. Suggestions, should I just upgrade to the preferred pass, but now I saw with the premier pass you have ep after 4pm? It's a difference of around $330 for the premiere pass. Do you think it's worth it? Our plan was since we don't have ep with sapphire, getting to the parks as early as we can and hit the rides we really want to do. I know going in July it's going to be very busy, any thoughts from the universal experts? My other thought was to renew to a premiere pass, but then next year we have to go at the same time, thanks!!

Are you talking about not renewing up to the next pass, but actually buying NEW passes to make next year's trip work better?

Being there Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday (and maybe part of Saturday?) is a really decent stay, and you might not find the huge need for EP. Many people are just fine without the express pass. The after-4 EP is one EP per ride (not the unlimited of staying deluxe).

people that live local are more apt to buy the premier.
but i do read that some that are not in florida also buy the premier pass
it is only valid at 4:00 and can only be used one time per ride per date.

for me, the additional perks are not worth it for me so i stay with the preferred pass

you will be at the darkside for 5 nights.
i would think you would be able to cover quite a few things during each day.
EE would knock out potter and a few other rides without long waits.

probably easily do a lot more after that.
use the SRL lines as much as possible to cut down on long waits for rides.
since you will be at the studios only if you don't renew and upgrade to preffered, you could do those 5 days and hit everything without ep's

if you want to renew, go with the preferred as there are no black out dates.
the power pass you have is blacked out for Island of Adventure.

thank you so much! I didn't realize that the Ep after 4 is not the same as the unlimited, so we'll definitely forget that! I think we're going to do what you suggest-just upgrade for now. We were thinking for next year, instead of coming in July or August, we might hold off until September, so I wouldn't want to renew because it would be expired for next year. we're such early risers, I think we'll stick to our original plan of getting to the parks early. thanks again!!

you are welcome.

UO sells the unlimited usage ep to anyone.
it can be for one park or both parks

hotel guests at the 3 deluxe receive it free as a hotel perk.
valid for both parks and unimited rides/shows.

UO also sells one park or bundled two park ep which are one time use

if someone has 5 in the family or even 4, it is cheaper to do a room on site at a deluxe instead of buying the ep.

you are correct, not worth it to buy premier for the after 4 pm ep
better off to save money and go with the preferred.

the preferred never has black out dates for the parks.
