Upgrading AP and maxpass question

I have the signature AP and added Maxpass when renewing in July. I'm thinking about going during New Years which would mean I need to upgrade to the signature plus pass. My question is does Disney charge me the difference between the pass and max pass or just the difference between the two passes? I'm just curious if I'll be out the $75 for maxpass when upgrading. The signature plus is $1149 and signature is $999 so a difference of $150 or will I have to pay $75 since I paid the $75 for max pass? I'm on the payment plan if that matters at all. TIA for any advice.

The CM at the ticket booth told us that that you have to pay the full price difference between the two passes. They don’t credit you for the $75 you spent on Maxpass. I’m not sure if that’s correct or not (like you, we have Signature with Maxpass and were wondering what we’d pay if we decided to go over Christmas and upgraded then... but we haven’t actually tried it).

I suspect that it may be one of those “it depends what CM you get” situations in practice.

I agree it probably depends on what CM you get. We asked when upgrading and the CM said it would be credited toward the additional upgrade if we decided to go at Xmas time. I wished I just upgraded to the higher pass then...uuuggg oh well. I just was curios what others have experienced and if I had any possibility of only paying the additional $75.

I don't see why they wouldn't credit the $75, you paid it towards your pass and I would ask for a lead to clarify if they try to tell you that you don't get that as credit towards the upgrade. I would understand if you had spent say $10 on a day pass for Maxpass, but not the $75 annual. I would be nice and polite with the lead, but ask for them to make sure everything is done correctly unless the first CM credits it to you of course.

Since they do credit you for parking, my guess is they would credit you for Max Pass.
