Upgrading annual passes

Hello, Everyone.

A new Disney Vacation Club owner here, and I was wondering how upgrading annual passes work. We have Southern California annual passes (have not been used yet) and we would like to upgrade to the Disney Vacation Club Deluxe annual pass. How exactly should we go about doing that? I think that the soonest that we will be at Disneyland is around December.

The only thing I can contribute is that you shouldn't do anything with it until you plan to use it since the effective date will be when you actually have the card in hand. Is the one you have an actual AP or is it a voucher? That could make a difference. Hopefully CheshireFigment will check in and give you the official information.

You are wanting the disneyland deluxe pass, correct? If so just be aware it's a $20 DVC discount on the DL passes. I'd go to a ticket booth or guest service with your S. Cal pass and just work with them to exchange it towards the Deluxe. They may require you to activate the other one and then do the upgrade.

Thank you. Yes, we plan to wait until we are actually going to use them. They are actual passes and not vouchers.

Yes, that is what we want and we are aware of the $20 discount. That is what decided us to do the upgrade. We we just trying to figure out the right process. Thank you all. You guys are great!!!
