Upgrading Annual Pass

We bought seasonal annual passes for trips that will take place Nov. 2021, June 2022 and Nov. 22. Never in million years did I think we would need tickets for dates after the beginning of June.
Dh came home the other day and asked if we could go to Universal in July. Since I already bought the seasonal how do I go about upgrading? I am assuming I can at maybe a resort or the park? We are staying at Portifino

You can upgrade at the resort or the park. Probably faster at the resort. Unless it is strangely complicated, in which case they will refer you to guest services at the park.

I came here looking for this information too! Will I just be charged the face value difference? (Right now the difference between seasonal and power pass is $50)

The only snag will be if you got the 15-month pass. You can only upgrade to a pass that exists when you upgrade. So, if you upgrade now, you will lose the 15-month part. Unless they've changed their minds about that.

Ugh. I do have a 15 month. But they get more money out of me lol. Who wouldn't want that

Oh no! I was going to upgrade to get the discounts. Don't want to loose my 15-months.

Maybe send them an email asking. My guess is that lots of people are wanting to do the same thing. They might relent on it and keep your expiration the same. Reason to do it by email is if they say you can at guest services, then you print that out and take it with you.
I bet there is a lot of people that planned on going once, and then changed their mind.

I was told by the people at the Universal service desk at the resort that if you activate the pass before you do the upgrade, you will keep the same expiration date (15 months).

Could be! Was utilized on 9/20 & two other trips this year

It was preferred for years. With covid extension & renewal morphing to September 2020, I dropped his to the seasonal

I guess I'm asking if they pro rate the upgrade. We were not planning on renewing but that may be the best way to get us into VB, by just renewing to a Premier early and leaving the last few weeks of the Seasonal on the table.
I'm assuming that you can renew with an upgraded pass and activate the Premier before the Seasonal expires and still get the renewal discount? I may have to call, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this?

They do not prorate. They MAY let you renew early and activate.
