Upgrading a ticket question

Hi! My son has a 6-day base ticket. I would like to upgrade his ticket to a 10 day ticket, and would prefer to do it now so I can make the extra days of FP+ reservations. Is it possible for them to do this over the phone? Or do I have to wait until I get to the parks and go to guest services?

I just called and the very unfriendly castmember told me I had to do it at the parks. But thought I'd check here just in case Thanks for the help!

If the ticket is part of an upcoming package (room & tickets), it can be upgraded by phone.
If the ticket was purchased separately, it can only be upgraded in person.

Don't forget to use it first, then upgrade, so you get the current gate value.
