We are supposed to get 2 free tix from DH's colleague's wife. I bought the other 2 tix we would need (so two of us have FP+ booked already!).
Anyways DH's colleague hasnt given us the tix yet and if by chance she no longer works for ESPN whenwe go the tix are no longer valid. So I was thinking of buying two more tix in case we dont get the free ones. If we do get it I would save the extra ones I bought. Would i be able to upgrade those in the future to a multiday park hopper? (I dont think our next trip will be until 2016 though!).

Any standard new, never-used Magic Your Way WDW tickets can be saved for use and/or upgrading in the future.
Yes, they could be upgraded to multiday park hoppers.

Robo and OP:
In 2010, my DD's BF used four of his BIL's ESPN employee tickets to enter the WDW parks. They came in the form of 4 single eTickets (in PDF format). DD had me print them at my home and I still have the PDF files. The eTicket had to be taken to the Cast Member/eTicket gate, where the CM took the voucher and gave back a "re-admission ticket for re-entry and Park Hopper privileges on the same day."

I'll reprint a section of the eTicket here (with some things blanked out).

If OP is receiving an ESPN employee ticket (an employee perk) like my DD's BF did, it is a Complimentary ticket, has an expiration date, and wouldn't be able to be upgraded in any way. OP will have to look at what kind of ticket she is given, and see if it says "Complimentary" on it. If so, it won't be upgradable.

Good info, but as far as I can tell,
that wasn't the OP's question, nor does it pertain to my answer.

Not arguing, just saying that we are discussing upgrading purchased MYW tickets
in this thread (AFAIK.) :thumbsup2

THANKS! Yes I would save the purchased ones and use the comp ones as I know they expire and cant be upgraded (but if they happen to be park hoppers like yours POOHsie I will be sooo happy!!!).
Thanks for the info. With all the ticket changes I wanted to be sure! I would buy directly from Disney anyways.

I am wondering how the comp tix will work with booking FP+ ahead of time but we will see....Hopefully when DH gets back from a business trip next week his colleague will give him the tix!

Yeah, I don't know about booking FP+ with comp ticket vouchers. There's bar codes and numbers on the voucher, but would they work with MDE? You could try, and/or you could call Disney FP+ fix-it staff once you have the vouchers. I hope you're able to get them from DH's associate. It makes sense they're PH tickets, unless there was a cutback on ESPN perks since our vouchers used in 2010.

Cutbacks?! From a Disney company!? Never!

I really hope we can link the vouchers to MDE. IF we ever get them!
