Upgrading a hopper pass

Hi, we went to Disney in February and each purchased a 10 day non expiring park hopper ticket, and each used up 5 days, leaving 5 days left on each ticket.

I just made reservations for September for Pop Century using the Free Dining Plan. To get the Free dining Plan, we had to purchase at least a one day park ticket per person, which I did.

I had a customer at work tell me that I could upgrade my 5 day park hopper to a 10 day instead of buying a one day ticket, but the customer service agent ( who frankly was a moron) knew nothing about it and said that if we upgrade we have to do it at the park but she doesn't know how much it'd be and they have no way of finding out either. Great customer service :) I hate to buy a 1 day pass for 63.00 if I can just upgrade my current ticket, since we'll definitely go back a million times.

Does anyone know how I'd do this and how much it would cost?

In order to get the "free dining" you have to purchase a make your way package with at least a one day park ticket. You cannot apply an old ticket. If this was true, the hundreds of AP holders on this board who are purchasing a one day ticket to get the package would not be happy.

And the tickets don't work that way anyway. You can't add more days onto a 10 day ticket as that is the most days they sell on a ticket. What you are referring to would actually be adding days back to a 10 day ticket and it can't be done.

What was originally a 5 day pass can be upgraded to a 10 day pass provided it has not been used more than 14 days ago.

The remains of the 10 day pass (or any Magic Your Way pass) used more than 14 days ago and with at least one park day left can be traded up towards a new 10 day pass but the exchange rate is terrible. Not worth doing IMHO.
