Upgrading 1 day ticket to AP?

We bought 1 day tickets and plan on upgrading to an AP. We arrive at DLR at around 7:00 pm on Sat. 8/29 and want to make it to our WOC dining package dinner reservation at DCA by 8:20 pm. We plan on going to the 2nd WOC show. After WOC, we plan to head over to DL till closing time (midnight).

What should our strategy be? Should we upgrade our tickets to the APs before we enter the park - or after we leave DCA and head over to DL?

How many of you are upgrading your tickets to an AP? The process can go quickly or it can go slowly without any real rhyme or reason. My friends upgraded their tickets to an AP (three individuals) and it took about 45 minutes (including time taken waiting in line). Personally, I would probably play it by ear. If the lines for the ticket windows or Guest Services are short when you arrive, you can try doing it then or wait until after WoC (as you cross over to DL). I'd be tempted to say wait until after WoC because you don't have to be anywhere specific at a specific time at that point. You just have to make sure you upgrade your ticket before DL closes.
