Upgrades at the Port

We are sailing in early February for a 4 day and based on a few other posts it seems like the ship *may* not be at capacity. Has anyone ever asked for/gotten an upgrade at the Port? If available can you pay a little bit more and get upgraded?

Yes, if there are available rooms in a higher category when you check in, you can upgrade for a price. Sometimes the difference in price is cheaper than what you would have paid for it earlier. Sometimes not. If you want to do this, I think you have to ask to speak with a supervisor when you get to the front of the line. They may even have a special line for this. I'm sure someone else can clarify.

On very rare occasions, when you check in they might offer you a complimentary upgrade. This doesn't happen too often and I wouldn't count on it, but one can always hope....

From what I have seen and heard, the earlier you arrive at port, the better your chances - we were given an upgrade in October because our room (the entire Deck 5 Aft flooded after dry dock) - but it wasn't a different type of stateroom just two decks up. Higher up means more ship motion (not a good thing)!

Good luck!

Hi DutchsMommy!

Last month on a 4-day cruise I originally had a Category 11. At Port I upgraded to a Category 8 for a total (for two adults) of $252.
