Upgraded to APs, no new magic band?

We had an onsite reservation this last Oct and upgraded our tickets to AP. I thought we would get new magic bands sent to us since we are AP holders now, but in MDE, there is none to be personalized. Do we not get them since we upgraded a ticket to them? I was hoping to get the 2.0 version.

You will get them at some point. Ours did not come immediately, but they did eventually show up to be customized on-line, and then it took a couple of weeks for them to arrive. This is probably in your favor since the new Magic Bands are coming soon, but are not here yet.
If you still have the Magic Bands you used last Oct, they should still work. Or when you make your next reservation, you will get some then, too. The AP bands will be in addition to all the others, but they all do the same thing. If you look carefully in the box before you throw it away, they should have AP sliders, but are otherwise the same.

If you need them right away, I would call Member Services. If you are already there, try Guest Services at the parks, or you can get the generic ones at your resort - gray, not customized. As a DVC member, the casual pacing of the delivery did not bother me, but if I was a Florida resident, I would be trying to get them as soon as possible!

It does take an number of weeks. We renewed in October and we were just now able to order the Passholder Magicbands. I am pretty sure I checked last week and they weren't available. We got in a Passholder gift of a Magnet and reminded me to check.

They aren't sending the new version yet. A thread on the themepark board theorizes that they will start being sent IN January. So if you want those, be glad you can't customize them yet.

I activated an AP in November and my AP band was there immediately afaik to personalize. It was still sitting there last night as I decided I'll wait until they start the new bands.

Thanks! We got our APs at the end of September and got our magnets at the end of Oct/ beginning of Nov. I will keep checking and keep an eye out.
