It didn't go as smooth as I wanted but it wasn't so bad. Went to City Hall to inquire and the young man had no idea what I was talking about so he made a call and came back saying he couldn't process it in there but I could go to the ticket booth and have the tickets upgraded. The first ticket booth I walked up to didn't go so well. The young man working the booth was in the middle of a long yawn as we approached and when I asked if we could upgrade he tried to sell me an AP and said City Hall was mistaken and they do not offer ticker upgrades past 5 days. OK... off to another ticket booth. There we ran into a nice man who knew exactly what I wanted and took care of it for $5 a ticket. He did scare me when he said "Well it is going to be pretty expensive (pause) $20." :cool1:

Thanks for the update! We are hoping to add an extra day to our kids 6 day park hoppers. Did you do on your first day?

So you went from a 5 day hopper to an 8 day for $5 extra/ticket? I have a 3 day hopper with the city pass tickets and was told they credit $214 for an adult and $198 for a child and u pay the difference? Do you think these may be able to be upgraded for just $5/ticket?? That would make my day!

No, unfortunately it's not the same in your case. Disneyland doesn't sell park hoppers beyond 5 days any longer, but they are allowing people to upgrade beyond the 5 day hopper with a $5 charge/PER DAY, to add on extra days. But this wouldn't work for you. In your situation, if you're trying to upgrade a 3 day hopper to a 5 day one (for example), they will charge you the difference between what you paid for the 3 day hopper and the price of a 5 day one, since they do sell 5 day hoppers. I hope that makes sense. :)

1. Did you pay full price for your ticket originally?
2. How many days were on your passes to start with?
3. What cost $20? Was it $20 per day to upgrade four different tickets?

Basically what you are saying is.... you have to already have the longest park hopper that Disney sells (in this case the 5 day) and any days you want to add on after the 5 days is $5.00 per ticket per day...

Is this correct?

That is correct.

Take any ticket, the price you paid subtract from the price of a 5 day, pay this to get the 5day. Then for any days over five you need it's $5 per day.

Yes, first day after entering and exiting.

I do not think this will work. The way you describe it sounds correct.

1. No. Bought discounted 6-day hopper online about 3 months ago.
2. 6-days.
3, $5/ticket for 2 days. 4 tickets X $5 = $20 total.

This was not $5 per day as some have stated. I also can not verify this works for 5-day tickets.

Wow....you were very lucky getting 2 extra days for a total of $5. The reason that some of us have mentioned $5 per day is because that is the usual cost to add on extra days. I haven't seen anyone else say that they were able to get what you did. :)

Actually, it has always been $5 to add days 7 and 8. Going from 5 days to 6 days was $10, then only $5 to add day 7, and day 8 was free.

So the big news here is that it appears Disneyland now allows you to add days to your discounted tickets without having you pay back the discount.

Thank you for this thread. Was wondering recently how to go for 7 days without paying for an additional 2 day hopper.

Wow....I never knew that. I thought it was $5 for every day if you had the parkhopper with the highest amount of days on it. (Formerly 6, now 5).
Good to know....Thanks for the clarification. :)
