Upgraded at AKL!

Just returned from a stay at AKL from Dec 1-5 and it was wonderful. We received a complimentary upgrade from standard to Savannah view upon check-in. ( I didn't ask. They just did it!) We were on Kudu trail room 4282. We saw lots of giraffes, ostrich, impala,ankole cattle, and others. It was amazing! I would love to stay here again, but our trips are usually too long to afford that on a teacher's salary. I did miss the food court at Pop as Mara didn't have as much selection.They had a great African village display made of sugar and chocolate out in front of Boma. DD loved the pool and the slide even though it was a little slow. We already miss Disney!

Same thing happened to us when we checked in at AKL two summers ago..it was relaly nice, but don't think I'd spend the money to stay there again..would rather spend it on a monorail resort

We leave thursday, staying at POP this time. My first MVMCP - any hints??

The same thing happened to me on my Disneymoon. I loved AKL!

you may want to consider the Teacher discount at the Swan and Dolphin. We used it last year and LOVED the Dolphin (even after staying at the AKL our previous trip). Great rooms, great location and very good rates for teachers and nurses!

Actually we are returning in May/June (got to get use out of these AP's!) and my daughter chose to stay at Pop again. We both love the resort and since it is just she and I it is fine size wise. Another time we would like to try the Dolphin. Bacibecky, get to MVMCP early. They let in around 4 with only your MVMCP ticket. We rode several rides before the party so we could concentrate on the shows. Get to the shows early. They fill up fast. There is a 6:15 showing of Twas the NIght Before Christmas and if you can last, there is a Celebrate the Season show at 12:00. You have to line up early on Main Street for a curbside seat, even for the second parade. We wanted to be where the snow was falling and got one of the last seats on a Thursday night party at 9:50. The hot cocoa and cookies are very good, but be careful the cocoa is hot! liznboys, I am sending pixie dust your way! For those who go now, don't miss the Osbourne lights at MGM. They are fabulous!

We were at the AKL from Dec. 1-4. We also received an upgrade without asking from standard savannah view to deluxe. Prior to that we were at the WL for three nights and also received an upgrade from woods to courtyard. Merry Christmas to us!
