Upgrade your Give A Day Voucher to multi-day ticket

Here is kind of a weird question...
We plan on going during free dining. My oldest daughter and I will both have the GAD vouchers..youngest DD will not. If we seperate the 1 day tickets from our room card would youngest DD be able to use those tickets and then we could just upgrade the GAD voucher for oldest DD and myself? Hopefully that doesnt sound too confusing LOL

Are you trying to use your 3 one day tickets on your room to update for your DD? I don't think you could do this. Sorry. You could upgrade her one day ticket, upgrade the GAD tickets for you guys, and then save the other two one day tickets for a future trip.

What is this fastpass option of which you speak? We have been out of the parks for more then a year (off cruising DCL which I highly recommend:))and I haven't kept up with things obviously. Back in the day fastpass was just a way to get a shorter line and totally free. .??

Going to be signing up for GAD tickets as well. . .wondering how this all comes together.

Going in the fall with free dining and willing to hold onto the 1 day passes we get for buying a package.

sorry longwinded, about this fast pass option?

Here is the explaination of the FP option

1. Fastpass Exchange Cards for you and up to five members of your party. All members of your party must be present at the time of redemption of the certificate to get the Exchange Cards. The Exchange Cards are valid that day only and at that Park only. Fastpass Exchange Cards may not be available after 11:00am

I have the same question: what IS a "FASTPASS® Special Exchange Card"?

How is this different from the free Fastpass you can already get?

But this doesn't tell me what it is good for, only how many may use it.

It's not different from the other FP you can get other than you get 6 of them (if you have 6 people in your party) and get them all at once. Right now you can only get 1 FP at a time per person. This will give you a FP for all the FP attractions up front.

Just a clarification... with this deal you don't get a FP for every FP attraction like you did during the year(s) of a million dreams promo. This is like the birthday promotion where you choose x number of FP's from a specific group of attractions.

You still need to insert the exchange card at the FP machines at the attraction you choose, but I believe your return time is immediate, no matter what time the machines are spitting out. And even if all FP's for an attraction are gone for the day, a machine will be open to distribute GAD fastpasses.

The FP's could be a very nice option depending on when you go and what the crowds are like. :thumbsup2

True...but on the flip side, at a slow time of year when the FP machines aren't even up and running...this really isn't equivalent to the $84 you'd get off the ticket :headache: There is the figurine/pin option that might be a better option for folks :rolleyes1

Ok I get it now. Yes, for us the $84 off our ticket price would def. be better for us.

We just signed up and I'm really getting excited about the volunteering. It will be a good experience for my kids! Thanks!

Can you redeem the Give a Day voucher at the gate and then upgrade to the Southern California City Pass? This would make the price under $200 for a 3 day Disneyland hopper, Universal Studios Pass, Seaworld, and the San Diego Zoo. This seems like a good way to enjoy our 13 day California trip if possible.

Can I do this?

I bought a package for 6 of us with only a 1 day myw ticket so we could get the dining. All 6 of us also have a GAD voucher. I have some various non-expiring tickets that I was going to use to supplement. But after reading this thread, I thought it may be better to use the 84.14 credit toward a multi day pass for the rest of our days, we are staying for 7 days, and save the non-expiring tickets for a later visit.

So I would show up on the first day with our GAD vouchers at Will Call and purchase a 6 day pass, or would it be a 7 day pass? I thought 6 b/c the GAD voucher would count as one day? I'm confused.

Thanks for your help.

You would get 7-day tickets, which they will roll the GAD tickets into.

That's exactly what we did in May.

We went to the will call window, handed the lady our vouchers, birth certificates/drivers licenses.

She issued each of us a 1-day card, which she kept and immediately typed in a bunch of stuff and then converted those tickets to 7-day tickets for each of us. They were just regular 7-day tickets like we had the year before, only the total money we owed was $85-something less per person than it should've costed.

It was a great deal!

Edited to add: BTW, they also give you the original 1-day tickets (that are voided, since they upgraded them) to keep as a souvenir.

Okay, thanks for the info. Another question I have is what do you think would be a better deal? Doing it like the above, like u did, OR to upgrade my 1 day MYW ticket I had to buy to get the dining for my package before I go on my trip to a 7 day pass? I would just use the GAD for FP option then.

Thanks again
