upgrade with Loews?

I will surely let everyone know if we received an upgrade. I want to get in the mindset of not assuming we'll get one or we'll be disappointed. The time we're going(June 20th-27th) will be a busy time so I don't really count on getting one. It won't hurt to ask though. I also plan on doing a trip report. I love reading those things. They are so helpful when planning your own vacation. Thanks to all for your input.

Mary, I am also anxious to hear how your trip went!

Loews first gold:

Three qualifying stays at any Loews Hotel, or a minimum of ten nights total, is needed to move up to the Loews First Gold level.

What is a "qualifying" stay? What is an "unqualifying" stay? I'm thinking that maybe a comped room would be "unqualifying"?

Thanks!

^A qualified stay is any published rate. Group, negotiated, third party and advanced purchase rates do not apply. Not valid with any other discount program, coupon, complimentary or promotional offer.

Thanks Jessica. Looks like you have to pay rack rate to earn one qualifying stay. Even "advanced purchase" rates don't count? Rats! Entertainment rate is too good to pass up! Looks like I will be a lowly Blue for quite some time.:D

yeah, they sure do cover all basis so only rack rates are left to be qualifying. However, I have never paid rack rate and still moved up the Loews first ladder! I'm wondering if the recent changes in the program are to restrict that from happening anymore.

After your trip I would give Loews First a call at 1.800.LOEWS12 and ask about your status. You never know they may have it listed as a stay.

AAA and Loews promotional rates count. I'm pretty sure Fan Club rates work too. My last stay was through Hotel Kingdom and they said because I was still paying 200.+ per night it did count as a qualifying rate. That trip however was before the changes this month. What I am hearing now is no third party rates count. Now I'm trying to decide how much those milk and cookies ar worth.

10. In the event you do not remain an Active Member (as defined above) your membership may be cancelled at the sole discretion of Loews.

You will be considered an "Active Member" so long as you have stayed in a Loews Hotel during the previous twelve months.

This was news to me! Read more about this programs terms and conditions here

I just had to add my input here on the gold card. I just got one in the mail from Loews saying it was my reward for being a good customer. I stayed at HRH in April for 7 nights at the ent rate of $125/night. This was the very first time staying with them. So, who knows what their rules really are. I have to say I was very pleased to have been sent one!
