Had a question concerning a possible upgrade. Our family is staying at the RP in June and was wondering what our chances would be of an upgrade at this time of year? I don't expect one, but if we would get one, what would our upgrade be from a standard waterview room? Club level, hospitality suite, what? Thank you for your help!!

I would like to know the answer to this also. We are now brand new plat. lowes members. I heard there is a charge for an upgrade with Lowes. Is anyone familar with Lowes upgrades?

I am a gold member and I called RPR front desk last week. I was told that they can upgrade my standard room to waterview at no charge. $35 to kids-suite, but no possibility for club level because they only have 30 some CL rooms. Not sure about plat. level, probably free kids-suite?

Thanks Luckytso

Thought I should mention that we got our Loews card last year. We tried to use it at the HRH in June of that same year for an upgrade. HRH did everything they could to find an upgrade for us but were totally booked. When I called this year to make our ressies at the RP, they said we weren't eligable for an upgrade. I was wondering why HRH would honor it for us but RP mentioned we'd have to use the card two times before they could upgrade us. Any truth to this?

Is it a gold card or silver?

Our Loews card is blue and it is titled Loews First Blue and has my name and a number on it.

We just got back yesterday from RPR. They didn't give us an upgrade, but we had a great room overlooking IOA (Hulk coaster, Dr. Doom's freefall, and the river). The resort is fabulous!!! I'll try to post a trip report after I do lots of laundry.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I called the RP to add on another day to our "2 Tick Promotion" we booked back in May. They couldn't give us another day at that same rate for they said it was booked for that particular promotion. Talked with her for awhile but couldn't get her to budge on the price. I even said I had existing ressies for the other 6 nights but she said she just couldn't add on the 7th for the same price. I'm so disappointed but I did however mention that we had a Loews card and she took down our Loews card # and put it in the computer. Hopefully, it will come up at check-in time and we'll get one if available. She mentioned our upgrade would be a club or suite.

Mary,
Please let us know when you return if you receive an upgrade and what type of upgrade you receive.

When we were "blue", they upgraded us to a deluxe room. It was a little bigger than a normal studio, with a small couch. It wasn't anything special, but hey it was free. When we were gold, we went when it was too busy to get an upgrade. This last trip, we were platinum and for $35 more a night, we were upgraded to a kidsuite at the HRH. We were paying $25 extra per room for a rollaway, and with the upgrade, it cost us $35 per room to get two kidsuites. What a great deal. If it's not available when you check in, and you don't mind switching rooms during your stay, ask about the next few days.

Thanks for the info on Plat Lowes!

I will surely let everyone know if we received an upgrade. I want to get in the mindset of not assuming we'll get one or we'll be disappointed. The time we're going(June 20th-27th) will be a busy time so I don't really count on getting one. It won't hurt to ask though. I also plan on doing a trip report. I love reading those things. They are so helpful when planning your own vacation. Thanks to all for your input.

I was doing some cleaning at home and came across a card offering us a free upgrade to a suite for our next stay. It said to mention it when making reservations, so I am going to call today to see if we can apply it to our existing reservation. Will post to let you know.

Mary as a lowes Blue memeber you are not entitled to the suite upgrades. These are for lowes gold and plat. memebers. As far as moving to view upgrades and deluxe room upgrades that your not charged for you are entitled to those like every person is if the CSR is having a good day. Although if they choose to do this i'm sure you'll be thrilled and love your accomodations like you said just don't expect it. As far as them putting another night on to your room once you get there tell them at the front desk you need to stay an extra day and i bet you'll get your room request. I have NEVER been turned down for an extra night. That is a perk for gold and plat memebers also they guartee you a room withiin 48/24 hr s respectively. I bet they would for you since your a memeber and your giving even more notice than required. I hope you have a great time and enjoy your stay at Lowes hotels are very very nice.

We will be Loews Gold Members by the time of our stay at the Royal PAcific next week......it says on the Loews website that as a Gold member, you get an upgrade to a suite for $35 at time of check-in if it's available....Does that mean $35 a night, or just one set fee of $35????? Thanks!

How do you become "gold", "platinum" etc. members? Does it go by the amount of times you use it? I still hear of people being able to upgrade with a blue and also like I said, last year was our first year we used it and HRH tried to get us an upgrade. I hope we're one of the lucky ones. Even so, I'm not expecting it. We'll have a good time no matter what!!!Thanks to all who responded!!

Mary,

Here's how to become gold or platinum:

Loews first gold:

Three qualifying stays at any Loews Hotel, or a minimum of ten nights total, is needed to move up to the Loews First Gold level.

Loews first platinum:

Ten qualifying stays at any Loews Hotel, or a minimum of 25 nights total, comes the premium level of benefits and service offered by Loews First Platinum.

I've also heard of people getting upgraded with just the Loews blue card; I guess it depends on time of year and how booked the resorts are. It never hurts to ask!

Good luck with your stay!

We have a GOLD starwood preferred card and Lowes' matched our "gold" status. We had to fax a copy of our Starwood card to them, but it was nice of them to do this. I just called the Lowes card # and asked if they would match the gold status.
