Upgrade UT to AP price difference

I upgraded 4 tickets last year. The things that I did to ensure that I would get the correct pricing was. I followed the Ticket Sticky. There is a ticket thread here on disboards made by a ticket CM, I am on my phone so I can't find it yet, so I'll edit the post later if no one references it.
1. I got the current Disney price + tax for my discounted tickets (not the $ I paid but the Disney ticket counter full price).
2. I got the current Disney price + tax for my target upgraded tickets.
3. I calculated the price difference between 2 and 1.
4. I used my tickets at least once (I entered Epcot at Future World)
5. I went to Epcot guest services at future world.
6. I asked to upgrade my tickets to tickets in step 2.
7. First time I got a different price than in step 3, so I asked, "did you price bridge the tickets yet?" She smiled and said oh no I didn't. She did it and the price to pay was what I calculated in step 3.
8. Repeated over again with another set of tickets a few days later and it went without a hitch.

As I mentioned above they don't need to know what you paid in order to bridge. The "bridging" is simply giving it the current gate value. So you can figure out exactly what amount they should charge you prior to trying to upgrade the ticket.

I thought when erionm wrote "They will no longer bridge tickets purchase at gate prices" he meant they only bridge what you actually paid to the upgrade price (which is what the CM kept saying).

I do have it figured out from Disney current ticket prices to the current DVC AP discount price so I hope it works out.

Thank you very much for clarifying.

I had a hard time understanding that sentence also but unless these are tickets purchased directly from Disney a few years ago they will bridge to current gate price.

Probably a dumb question, but what is a UT ticket? Also, I saw they are offering a four day pass for $199 but you have to spend one day at each park.
