Upgrade to the Dining plan

We are booked for a land/sea trip in December and opted for the dining plan on our land days. We booked through a friend who is a travel agent (boy do I wish that I had known of the DIS before I booked!!) and tried to upgrade to the delux only to be told that we could not. Does anyone know if we might be able to upgrade once we arrive? We were also interested in the Wine and Dine too. Any thoughts on that option?

The travel agent has to do it, and no, you cant upgrade at check in

As noted in the previous post, Disney will deal only with the owner of the reservation, which is not you, but your travel agent. Did you call and try to upgrade the plan yourself? If not, have your travel agent call and do it. I can't think of any reason why WDW would not let your travel agent upgrade your dining.

You will not be able to upgrade at checkin. You'd need to have it done up to 3 days before you check in.

Unfortunately my travel agent is the father of a friend who has never delt with Disney before. When I asked about the Delux dining he told me that I was unable to upgrade because we had the land and sea package?? I am paying for the dining sep and did not get it included (as in free dining) as far as I can tell. Is there an easy way to tell based on the confirmation that I received from Disney (by way of the agent)?
Their confirmations are not the easiest to read.

If youre able to book the basic dining I dont see any reason why you cant upgrade to deluxe. The confirmation will say something like MYW+DINE

I am also working on booking a future land/sea package but I am going to be booking directly with Disney. I have been informed that Deluxe Dining is not an option with the land/sea package. The only offer that that their computer shows is the regular dining program. It also does not offer the new CS dining option.

So there is the answer - regular dining is the only plan available with a land-sea package.
