:confused3 anybody ever do this? is it worth the extra cash?

I just did it today, whatdya think?

Well, I don't know if it will be worth it or not, but I took the plunge & did the same when I made our reservation for June. Can't wait to find out.

One thing for sure - it will make our suitcases a lot lighter, not having to pack food for breakfast, snacks, & bottled H2O. On our last trip to WDW, I had filled our suitcases with these sorts of things. Trying to not have quite so many suitcases, I packed our 2 biggest ones (there were 4 of us traveling). When we got to the airport & checked our bags I ended up having to take out a bunch of the bottled waters & put them in our carry on's because our checked bags were over the weight limit!!!!

They let you take bottled water in your carryon? I couldn't even take my normal sized bottle of contact lens solution!!!

Yep - this was last Jan. I questioned the girl at the check in counter & she said it would be no problem. I was really nervous, but sure enough, it was no problem at all. ~~~~ EDIT - DH just told me I am confusing trips -I think I need a few new brain cells!!! The bottled water in carry on incident actually happened on an earlier trip (not Jan 08), so it must have been before all the liquid restrictions. This past trip we had to take out clothes. Thank goodness I had packed them in big zip lock bags so it was pretty easy to pull them out of the suitcase & shove them in our backpacks.

Hey OP - Here's a link to a thread I posted re: Club Level. Got lots of good responses, so see if this helps you out.

actually, ill tell you about it when we go Feb 8th and 9th

I was thinking of waiting until we checked in to see about upgrading. I understand it may be cheaper that way. I was wondering if anyone knew the rate they ask for to upgrade to club level at check in. Is it negotiable? Thanks in advance.

there are signs at the check in counter in the lobby of the hotels.

if there are club rooms available, the sign will state you can upgrade for a cost of xxxx per night for club.

it ranged from $75 to $100 per night when i was last there.

Thank you Mac. I was hoping it would be a little less expensive. We staying at RPR. I'm not sure $75-$100 is worth it for my family.

i have only seen the upgrade at $50 on a weekday (m-th) once before.
and that was 2 years ago during low season.

if you are going during regular or high season, i don't think they would sell the upgrade at $50 a night. jmo

But, on the other hand......if the hotels are hard hit by the economy, who knows what they will offer upgrades for.......

that letter the loews members received did state due to the economy hitting them hard, they were extending the status for members for another year. if they do that, maybe they will make other concessions on upgrades.
