Upgrade to AP

When you use parkhoppers to upgrade to an AP, what price do they give you? Do they give you gate price?

For example, if I bought 5 day parkhoppers from the Disneyland website, it would be $189 for an adult, but gate price would be $229--if I upgraded to an AP, would they give me credit for the amount I paid? Or would they assume gate price? Does anyone know?

You will pay the difference between the price you actually paid for the hopper and the AP you are upgrading to. They can tell the price you paid by looking on the back of the hopper.
