Upgrade to AP Through the IG?

We arrive this Thurs. at BoardWalk, entering through the IG by 11 am (hopefully). We have a 9 day hopper that we'll upgrade to a Platinum AP ASAP. Where's the best place to do this? As I understand this we must use it once at least before the upgrade so we'll have to enter then do it. I suppose we can enter and leave immediately to go to the kiosk right there, correct? Or should we go to Guest Services in FW? Our first FP+ is for Soarin' and about noon so we'll be in the vicinity anyway, any advice?

IG location is just fine.
The "under-Spaceship Earth" location in Future World will also work fine, as will the outside-the-front-gates Epcot location.

The IG can do just about anything the front of the park can do - it has ticket booths and Guest Relations. Either of those can do your upgrade easily.
