Upgrade to AP/Fastpass+ Question

We will be purchasing Military Promotional 5 day park hoppers in August. We will use one day in August and 4 days in October. We plan on upgrading to a Florida Resident AP but if we go on the fourth day to upgrade to the AP will we lose any FP+ selections we may have linked to the 5 day hopper? Should I wait until all FP+ selections are used prior to upgrading?
