Upgrade tix while there?

DH and I are going in September, and again in August of 2007. I had tried to convince him to get the 10 day MYW tickets with no expiration, but he didn't want to shell out the $$$ for next year's trip yet.

I read somewhere that you could buy a basic MYW ticket, and upgrade to the park hopper, etc. while there - is it possible to "extend" the tickets on our last day to add 5 more days and make them non-expiring, or would that be stupid/more expensive?

Adding days, non-expiration, etc later (and within 14 days of first usage) will cost more than buying all of that when you order the ticket in advance originally. It won't cost more than buying the ticket with everything on it after you get there.

(copied from another post) Non-expiration is definitely worth it when your ticket covers two whole vacations each of at least 3 days. But if the ticket does not fully cover the second vacation you will usually suffer a short term loss compared with expiring tickets which you might make up when (if) the second ticket fully covers a third vacation.
